The Sibelius Festival Korpo has been arranged since 2002. During 17 years, 2002–2018, more than 250 compositions by Jean Sibelius have been performed, 22 of them as World Première Performances, see below! The festival is profiled into a special forum of Sibelius’s music – at the concerts both rare compositions of the youth production are played as well as well-known master pieces. This is often planned to shed light of the various stylistic phases of Sibelius’s œuvre. Since the start in 2002, the programmes have been designed by the artistic director, the pianist Folke Gräsbeck.
